Absa Premiership

Result: Ajax Cape Town 0-0 Free State Stars

Date: 26 January 2018

Venue: Cape Town Stadium

Ajax Cape Town and Free State Stars played to a 0-0 draw in an Absa Premiership match at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday night.
The Urban Warriors had the first real shot in anger in the 11th minute as Tercious Malepe hit a long range shot that was saved brilliantly by Stars goalkeeper, Badra Ali Sangare.
Ajax debutant Yannick Zakri had an opportunity to send the home side ahead in the 17th minute after being sent through clear on goal by Fagrie Lakay, but his strike could not find the target.
Muhsin Ertugral's troops were all over Ea Lla Koto as Zakri came close to finding the breakthrough six minutes before the close of the half but he fired wide from close range.
The half ended with the hosts having a good attacking spell, while Stars were mainly doing the defending.
Ertugral made his first alteration immediately after the first half by bringing on Tashreeq Morris in place of Samuel Julies.
Morris was already in the thick of things 19 minutes later as he almost found the target with a long range effort that went slightly wide.
Zakri could have found the breakthrough five minutes after the hour with a stinging shot from just outside the box following a corner but it could not dip in time to find the target.
Ertugral made his second change in the 72nd minute bringing on midfielder Ndiviwe Mdabuka, withdrawing defender Malepe.
Stars got a rare chance 10 minutes before time as Nhlanhla Vilakazi hit the woodwork with a curling shot from just outside the box.
Morris almost sealed it four minutes before time, but he was unlucky to see the ball swerve away from the goals.
In the end, neither side could find the winner and they settled for the share of spoils.

Muhsin can take this one point and look forward to the next game. A draw against Free State Stars is not a bad result.

4 matches over 4 days ending in 4 draws. This is embarrassing for the coaches.
