Teams: Orlando Pirates V Moroka Swallows
Date: 29 March 2014
Venue: Orlando Stadium
Moroka Swallows will be looking to turn around a dreadful 2013/14 season when they head to Orlando Stadium on Saturday for an Absa Premiership match against Orlando Pirates.
The original Soweto derby is scheduled to get underway at 18h00 with eight places and seven points separating the two on the league table.
The Dube Birds have had a dreadful 2013/14 season and currently find themselves in the lower half of the league table in 12th place on 27 points, a far cry from their impressive form they have shown in the last two seasons.
Swallows, though, will be hoping for a win against their old rivals on Saturday, and will come into this game full of confidence after ending an eight game winless streak with a 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows last week.
The Birds have claimed nine points from their 10 away matches so far this season.
Pirates are also not in the best form and have won just one of their last four league matches. They played to a 1-1 draw away to Mpumalanga Black Aces last week.
The Soweto giants have recorded six wins and five losses from their 11 home matches so far this season.
The Buccaneers are placed fourth on the Absa Premiership log with 34 points from 21 matches.
In head-to-head stats, Pirates and Swallows have met in 57 league matches since 1985.
The Buccaneers have 22 wins compared to 11 for the Birds, while 24 matches have been drawn.
Pirates have won 11 of their 29 home matches against Swallows, suffering five defeats in the process.
When the teams met earlier this season, Bucs won 1-0 away thanks to a goal from Kermit Erasmus.
