Following SuperSport United’s 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in an Absa Premiership match on Saturday afternoon, ‘Man of the Match’ Thuso Phala said the victory was down to his side listening to the coach.
Phala explains that his team worked very hard for the result and deserved the win because they listened to coach Cavin Johnson before the match.
“I would like to thank the Almighty for everything he has done for me,” said Phala after the game.
“We worked very hard as a team and the coach’s plan worked for us today.
“We had to sit back and wait for the counter, and it worked for us.
“We got the goal and the three points we so desperately needed.”
Phala created the only goal of the game that was scored by Bradley Grobler in the 76th minute, but he spent his afternoon running at Patrick Phungwayo who had just returned from injury for Pirates.
“Every player that plays for Pirates is a quality player. Phungwayo is a national team player and he is a good player. It is good see him back playing again,” added Phala who also felt he could have scored himself on the day.
“The legs were tired and on another day I will take those chances I got, but for the team overall we got the points that we needed and I am thankful for that,” concluded the United man.
