Platinum Stars secured their fourth straight league win with a 3-1 victory over SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The home side went close with a chance of their own a minute later when Thuso Phala's free-kick deflected just wide of the upright.

SuperSport shot-stopper Ronwen Williams was called upon in the 13th minute to keep out Msomi's stinging effort from inside the area.

After a quiet spell in the half, the visitors squandered a glorious chance in the 40th when Bonginkosi Ntuli placed his effort wide of the mark from six-yards out, after being teed up by Rodgers.

SuperSport went close just a minute later but Mzimela was on hand to keep out Dove Wome's powerful effort from close range.

However ,it was Dikwena who broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when Sibusiso Msomi collected a pass from Rodgers, before firing home a low effort at the far post.

The lead was doubled in the 60th minute, as Ntuli broke through middle, before showing great strength to slot past the on-rushing Williams.

SuperSport pulled one goal back in the 69th minute when Jeremy Brockie rifled home a wonderful left-footed volley into far corner from a tight angle.

However, Dikwena restored their two-goal lead in the 74th minute when Robert Ng'ambi got on the end of Ntuli's knockdown in the box, before firing past a helpless Williams.

Gordon Igesund's men continued to push for more goals in the closing stages, however they failed to get their final ball right on a few occasions.
