Orlando Pirates claimed their second league win of the season after defeating Polokwane City 3-0 in a Absa Premiership encounter at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The opening exchanges in the first half proved to a dull affair, with both sides quite happy just to feel each other out.
However, Senzo Meyiwa was called into action early on, as he pulled off a fine save to keep out a shot which was destined for the bottom corner.
Pirates' first chance of the half arrived in 26th minute, as Oupa Manyisa's shot deflected into the path of Ayanda Gcaba, but the defender miscued his effort over the bar.
Four minutes later and Pirates were ahead, as a clever dummy by Mpho Makola set up Kermit Erasmus, who rifled the ball into the roof of the net.
It got better for the Buccaneers just before the halftime break, as another fine strike from Qalinge increased their lead, after a clever dummy by Erasmus.
Makola came to close to increasing the lead in the 55th minute, but his long rang effort was saved by Visser.
Pirates were seeing most of the ball in the second half and never looked like conceding a goal.
However, Polokwane almost reduced the lead in the 76th minute, as Shiba was played through on goal but the winger managed to lob his effort over the bar with only Meyiwa to beat.
Daine Klate almost added a third in the 84th minute, but the winger's strike from 20-yards sailed inches over the crossbar.
Substitute Lehlohonolo Majoro sealed the win for the Buccaneers in the 84th with a composed finish on the edge of the area.
