Paulse, Mobara Seal Victory For Ajax

Absa Premiership

Result: Ajax Cape Town 2-1 Polokwane City

Date: 12 September 2015

Venue: Cape Town Stadium

Goals from Nathan Paulse and Abbubaker Mobara guided Ajax Cape Town to a 2-1 win over Polokwane City at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Urban Warriors broke the deadlock after just five minutes courtesy of a goal from veteran striker, Nathan Paulse.

It got better for the Cape side two minutes later, when defender Abubaker Mobara rose well to head home for Ajax's second of the game.

However, the visitors managed to reduce the deficit in the 15th minute when Jabu Maluleke curled home a free-kick.

The Urban Warriors went into the halftime break leading their Polokwane counterparts 2-1 at the Cape Town stadium.

After a quiet opening to the second stanza, Roger de Sa decided to introduce Erwin Isaacs for his debut for the club, the forward replaced Tariq Losper.

The home side went close to adding a third in the 70th minute but Paulse directed his header straight at Polokwane goalkeeper, Pule Konopi.

Roger De Sa's charges managed to hold off any late surge from Polokwane in the remaining stages to secure the three points.

The Urban Warriors now move top of the Absa Premiership standings, following their third successive league victory.

Meanwhile, Rise and Shine remain in 11th spot and have only registered one win in the league this season.

Here's how they started:

Polokwane City: Konopi, Phungwayo, Masenamela, Mbobani, Nyadombo, Nene, Jacobs, Maluleke, Ngidi, Tlolalne, Matjila
