BEST

Jose Garcia: 6.5/10

The attacking Highlands Park midfielder looked good down the right flank and produced some great crosses into the box. He caused a problem every time he pushed forward and also had a few shots on goal.

Franklin Cale: 6.5/10

Cale looked really dangerous in attack for Highalnds, both down the flank and in the middle of the park. He created problems for the Chiefs defence with some good crosses and his long range shooting.

Seun Ledwaba: 6.5/10

The Highlands Park left-back looked good in defence and helped out in attack with his overlapping runs. The timing of his tackling was good and he seemed to have Mphahlele’s number in the Chiefs defence. He also produced some good crosses into the box.

George Maluleka: 6.5/10

While his passing was not great in the first, the Chiefs midfielder came good in the second half. He was more lively in the middle of the park and his passing started to create problems for the Highlands defence. He also produced a good few crosses into the box which saw Highlands Park scrambling. He was handed the ‘man of the match’ award for his efforts on the night.

George Lebese: 6.5/10

Lebese looked promising in attack for Chiefs and had some good touches on the ball. At times he looked very threatening when driving forward. His biggest contribution was the perfect conversion of a penalty-kick in the second half to give Chiefs the lead.

Sibusiso Khumalo: 7/10

The Kaizer Chiefs left-back had a good game in defence and made some perfectly-timed, bone-crunching tackles. He was also a threat in attack down the left flank and created a few chances in front of goal with his deliveries into the box.

WORST

Edward Manqele: 5/10

Manqele was non-existent in attack and caught off-sides a few times. He offered very little in terms of threatening the Highlands Park goal. He was substituted for Chiefs in the 55th minute.

Auguston Leonard: 5.5/10

The Highlands Park defender looked quite solid in the first half, but did give away a couple silly fouls. In the second half he made the tackle on Twala inside the box which resulted in the penalty being given which gave Chiefs the lead.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele: 5.5/10

The Kaizer Chiefs right-back was not at his best as he was often caught out of position with Garcia and Cale often getting the better of him down the flank. He also gave away a few fouls and did not offer much assistance in attack down the right.

Pule Ekstein: 5.5/10

While the Chiefs midfielder worked hard in the middle of the park, he simply gave the ball away too often with some poor passing, especially his long balls forward and bade decision making. His shooting at goal was also not great. He was just too inconsistent on the night and was booked for diving.
