Cape Town City have revealed that one of their midfielders is close to making a return to full training.
While the depth of their midfield has not been a concern for the Citizens, they have had constant injury problems, with Abbubaker Mobara the only one yet to make a full recovery following a long layoff.
However, City currently have Chris David, Thabo Nodada, Mpho Makola, Thato Mokeke, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Zukile Kewuti, Shane Roberts and Rolando Putsche all deployed to different sides of their midfield.
Although, the Mother City-based club has since been given a boost for the second half of the season as they anticipate his return to full training in the next week.
“The player is well in his final stages of recovery. He is about a week away from full training with the first team,” City confirmed on their official Twitter account.
Mobara joined the club July this year as a free agent, where he has been utilised in both defence and midfield by former head coach, Benni McCarthy.
Although, with the Dutch tactician in charge at the helm, it remains to be seen where Mobara will be deployed, once he makes a full return to action.
