Orlando Pirates’ Abbubaker Mobara is set to miss the team’s opening game of the 2016/17 season, owing to suspension carrying over from last season.
The Buccaneers will be hosting Golden Arrows at Orlando Stadium tomorrow evening in their opening game of the new Absa Premiership season.
Mobara, who is one of the players expected to play a pivotal role for Muhsin Ertugral’s team in their mission to achieve success, will be serving out the last of his two-game suspension from the previous campaign.
During the second last game of last season, while playing for Ajax Cape Town against Maritzburg United, Mobara was sent off after picking up two yellow cards, which led to a subsequent red card.
Having sat out the first of his two-game suspension against Bidvest Wits during Ajax’s last game of the season, Mobara will miss the first game for his new club against Arrows.
The South African U23 international will be expected to be back for Bucs’ MTN8 quarter-final game against Wits on the weekend.
