A Belgian coach who is suspended by his club could be nearing a switch to the Absa Premiership.
Patrick Aussems – the coach of Tanzanian club Simba SC – has been linked with Polokwane City as a potential replacement for Serbian coach Zlatko Krmpotic.
It has been reported in Tanzania this week that Aussems has been suspended by his current employers, with his future with the club hanging in the balance.
During the FIFA break, Aussems had taken a two-day leave to attend to ‘private issues’ – a decision that has reportedly irked Simba and led to his suspension.
The Belgian has been suspended though he led his team to a 3-0 win over Ruvu Shooting last weekend on his return from leave.
“First of all, thanks for all your messages of support. Right now I am not allowed by the Board to do my job as I am still suspended. My desire is to continue to give you, Simba’s fans, attractive football, victories and titles. Everyone should have this wish!” the Belgian coach confirmed on Twitter.
Rise and Shine have suffered seven back-to-back losses – six in the League and one in Telkom Knockout.
Indications are that caretaker coach Bernard Molekwa is likely to be relieved of his duties in preparation of the second half of the season.
In their next match on Saturday, Molekwa and the team will face Bloemfontein Celtic at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
