10 Players Who Will Be Free Agents In July

A few clubs have so far confirmed new contracts for some of their players however, there are several players who will see their deals expire on June 30.

The likes of Denis Onyango, Anthony Laffor, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Joseph Malongoane have all had their contracts extended with their respective clubs before the season came to an end.

However, there are more than 10 players who are yet to have their contracts renewed and should their respective clubs not offer them a new deal, they will become free agents on July 01 this year.

Here are 10 of the players who could become free agents after June 30.

Abbubaker Mobara and Jackson Mabokgwane will see their contracts come to an end on June 30 and could leave the club as free agents. Mobara so far, has been linked with moves to the likes of SuperSport United, Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits and should he become a free agent he will be free to join any club of choice should the offer present itself. 

Siphelele Mthembu at City is also believed to be in the final year of his stay at City and it remains to be seen whether the Citizens will extend his stay.

James Keene, Morgan Gould, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Bongani Khumalo are four of a few players at SuperSport who will see their contracts with SuperSport United expiring on June 30 and it is yet to be confirmed by the club whether they will continue on their books for the new season, while Letsholonyane is believed to be moving on from Matsatsantsa.

Brian Onyango, who has been linked with the likes of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns will also become a free agent after his contract with Maritzburg United comes to an end on June 30 this year.

Gabadinho Mhango and Darren Keet will have their stay with Wits expire on June 30 and while the club is still trying to secure Keet’s signature on a new deal, there has been no official confirmation on Mhango’s immediate future.

Thela Ngobeni at Sundowns will have his contract expire on June 30, while the player has been linked with moves to several outfits in the Premier Soccer League.
