On Wednesday, January 24, Arsenal will play hosts to Chelsea in the Football League Cup. This will be the second leg of the semi-final between the two sides. The first match ended in a 0-0 draw, which sees the Blues coming into this match with an advantage as Antonio Conte’s men did not concede on their home turf.

Real Madrid will be looking to salvage some pride from their disastrous 2017/18 season as they face off against Leganes in the second leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final. Los Blancos go into the encounter on the front foot with a 1-0 aggregate.

On Thursday, January 25, Barcelona face off against Espanyol in the second leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final. The Catalans will be looking to fight back as they suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg. However, it would be a tough task for Espanyol to hold onto their 1-0 aggregate at Camp Nou.

League Rankings: Arsenal 6th & Chelsea 3rd (EPL)

Useful facts: The Gunners and the Blue clash at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening for the second leg of Carabao Cup. The two sides will look to give their all with hopes to progress to the next round of this annual knockout competition in men’s domestic English football. Both Arsene Wenger and Conte Ancelotti’s teams are fresh from league wins, having banged in four goals each last week. The victories are a much-needed confidence booster for the London rivals. The last time the two sides met for the first round of the competition, it ended in a 0-0 scoreline at Stamford Bridge early this month.

Real Madrid v Leganes (Copa del Rey)

Match 6 Soccer 6 Pool 24 January S6 V2 P1

League Rankings: Madrid 4th & Leganes 13th (LaLiga)

Useful facts: Real welcome visitors from the outskirts of Madrid, Leganes, with whom they lock horns for the second leg of Copa del Rey quarter-final at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Los Blancos were able to narrowly claim a win in the first round as forward Marco Ansesio netted home late ensuring victory for Zinedine Zidane’s men and a goal advantage going into the return match. Though Madrid are having a tough run in LaLiga this season, they were able to pull a massive comeback and move up the log standings to fourth when they unapologetically thrashed Deportivo La Coruna 7-1 last Sunday. Leganes, on the other hand, were held to a 2-2 draw in their previous league encounter. Both sides will be looking to progress to the semi-finals of the annual Spanish football cup when they clash on Wednesday evening.

FC Barcelona v Espanyol (Copa del Rey)

Match 5 Soccer 6 Pool 25 January S6 V1 P1

League Rankings: Barcelona 1st & Espanyol 14th

Useful facts: Barca had the better of Espanyol six times prior to their previous meeting in Copa del Rey, where the White and Blue stunned the Catalan giants in the first round of this prestigious competition with a 1-0 victory mid-January. Meanwhile, the LaLiga unbeaten log leaders will look to take advantage of the wounded visitors, who suffered a 3-0 loss to Sevilla last weekend. They meet on Thursday evening for the second leg of the quarter-final.
