Despite their loss last weekend, AmaZulu are oozing with confidence ahead of their much-anticipated opening DStv Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday.
Benni McCarthy and his team will travel to Loftus Versfeld Stadium in search of nothing less than three points after their disappointment of being knocked out of the MTN8 against Cape Town City last weekend, although they know how tough it will be against the ever-impressive Downs.
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Philani Zulu, who made his debut in the 2-1 loss against the Citizens, believes that all preparations have been made to turn things around for the KwaZulu-Natal against the defending league champions.
“The preparations for this game are just going well, so far so good. We took all the positives from the previous game against Cape Town City, and we fixed all the mistakes that were there and all I can say is that the gents…the whole team exactly is preparing very well and we are pretty much ready for the game against Sundowns,” said Zulu, speaking through AmaZulu’s media department.
The 28-year-old left-back says it was easy for him to gel with the team because he fits into how they play, while he also complimented the technical team for making things easier for him through their guidance.
