A young coach who has been flourishing in his career is unwavering in his aim to promote his club to Mzansi’s top-flight while also being being monitored by interested suitors.
Kabelo Sibiya, who previously led third-tier club, Buya Msuthu to the Nedbank Cup, has quietly gone about his business of leading TS Sporting to an impressive campaign in the GladAfrica Championship this season.
Insiders at the Mpumalanga outfit have confirmed that Sibiya has played a huge role in the motivation of players, despite limited resources.
The team is in fourth place on the log and still in with a chance to win promotion or to qualify for the play-offs, with two two matches left of the campaign.
“Kabelo Sibiya is the youngest coach in the GladAfrica Championship, and he has turned the fortunes of the club (TS Sporting) from being relegation candidates in the previous two seasons in the second tier to being title contenders. Sibiya joined the club late last season as assistant coach and is in his first full season as TS Sporting head coach,” said a source.
“With two games remaining, Sibiya could still promote the team automatically or through the promotional play-offs. TS Sporting are fourth on the log and four points behind log leaders Royal AM and are a point outside the play-offs spot. This is the same coach who won the ABC Motsepe League three times back-to-back and qualified the team for the Nedbank Cup at one stage. There are DStv and other GladAfrica Championship teams that are monitoring his situation closely,” the source added.
