TS Galaxy could reignite their interest in former AmaZulu midfielder Xola Mlambo, the Siya crew has been informed.
Mlambo is one of over 40 players who have been released by their respective clubs at the end of the 2021/22 season as clubs look to either balance the books, refresh their squad or a combination of the two.
The 30-year-old joined AmaZulu after being released from Orlando Pirates in 2020.
Now that he is a free agent, the Siya crew has been informed that the midfielder has once again piqued the interest of TS Galaxy. The Rockets were understood to be keen on ‘Ten Ten’ back in 2020 under then-coach Dan Malesela, but Dan Dance and Galaxy ultimately lost out to Usuthu who were forming a formidable squad at the time.
It came as somewhat of a surprise that Mlambo was released by the Durban-based side, given his pivotal role under both Benni McCarthy and Brandon Truter, in which he featured in 30 games in all competitions.
Having lost a number of key players like Ethan Brooks themselves, the Siya crew has learnt that Galaxy are keen on roping in Mlambo on a free, to add much-needed guile and experience in midfield.
Mlambo is currently back in his native Johannesburg as he ponders his next move.
