Wits Assess European Defender

Wits Assess European Defender

By Soccer Laduma - Jul 01, 2017 05:47 PM
Gavin Hunt is running the rule over tall defender, Slavko Damjanovic, as he considers bringing in a new centre back given Buhle Mkhwanazi’s long-term injury.

The 24-year-old played 25 games for FK Sutjeska Niksic last year in the Montenegrin top-flight as they finished fourth in the league and won in the cup final to secure a spot in the UEFA Europa League.

Mkhwanazi will miss the start of the new campaign after sustaining a severe knee injury last month, and Hunt has previously admitted that he made to to strengthen his defensive positions because of his absence.

The Siya crew have been informed that Damjanovic, who was born in Montenegro, is currently training with Wits, although at this stage it remains to be seen whether he has done enough to earn himself a contract at the club or not.

There have been reports in Montenegro that a two-year contract could be on the table for the six foot central defender, although they are yet to be confirmed at this stage.
