Secunda Stars are campaigning in Mpumalanga’s third tier and Masondo, 35, gave his best years for Thanda Royal Zulu.

In 2011, the then Orlando Pirates coach, Julio Leal, considered signing Masondo for the Soweto giants. The Brazilian mentor, who coached AmaZulu and Moroka Swallows prior to joining Pirates, had Masondo on trial at Bucs for weeks.

Now the player, who also has another job outside of football these days, is helping out at the third tier club with his experience.

“Vusiwe Masondo has been signed by Secunda Stars. The team is playing in the ABC Motsepe League. But he also works at Sasol these days. ‘TK’ is helping out with his experience in the team from Secunda. He works at Sasol the company, not at the garage,” said the source.
