AmaZulu FC look set to make a decision on a candidate for the head coaching role at the club.
Numerous names have been thrown into the ring at the club after the exit of Benni McCarthy, with the likes of Steve Komphela and coach Stuart Baxter in the running, with Brandon Truter expressing his desire to take on the role permanently.
Usuthu are still unbeaten under his reign as interim coach, and Truter revealed that club bosses have engaged with the coach regarding his future.
"The president and I have been having constant discussions. That has gone as far as pre-season, and obviously the number of the squad, who to keep and release," Truter told the media at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
As much as talks are at an advanced stage, the former Swallows mentor knows that anything can still happen as they are yet to sign a contract.
"It looks good, but in football, it only be done when you've signed a contract. The president is a man of his word, a man of integrity, so we leaning towards that. But as I said, I've been in football for too long to count my chickens before they hatch."
