Former Orlando Pirates winger, Mark Mayambela, could potentially ply his trade under and be reunited with former teammate Benni McCarthy, should Cape Town City be keen on his services.
The 29-year-old joined Ajax Cape Town in August last year as a free agent, where he went on to make 24 appearances in the 2016/17 campaign.
Mayambela was influential in the team’s run-in to the end of the season, however, as reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Ajax are believed to be open to the sale of the player for the July/August transfer window.
A Siya source has revealed to Soccer Laduma that the Urban Warriors will welcome any approaches for the player’s services in the upcoming transfer window and will be open to letting the player go, should the right offer come along.
Ajax’s neighbours, Cape Town City, recently took to social media where the club suggested that they would welcome Mayambela at their outfit.
City Head Coach, Benni McCarthy, is no stranger to the winger, as the duo played alongside each other at Pirates and it remains to be seen whether the 39-year-old will be keen on adding Mayambela to his roster for the new 2017/18 campaign.
