With Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila FC having qualified for promotion/relegation play-offs, there has been confusion on what would happen should the club go on to win promotion to the topflight.
TTM have already been sold to African All Stars – the club that is campaigning in the third tier league in Gauteng – with the Limpopo outfit set to take the place of Bidvest Wits in the elite league next season after they bought the Storrock Park club’s topflight status in June.
“The man who bought the club (TTM) could find himself owning a team in the PSL (Absa Premiership). That would be very interesting. If the club gets promoted he would have bought a club in the PSL with NFD (GladAfrica Championship) money. That would be good for the new owner,” former TTM coach Vladislav Heric recently told the Siya crew in weighing in on the matter.
TTM, who lost to Swallows FC 3-0 in their last GladAfrica Championship match on Sunday, have qualified for the play-offs for the second year in succession, having missed out on promotion at the end of last season after competing with Royal Eagles, as well as eventual winners Maritzburg United who successfully retained their topflight status.
“People must not panic. Everything is under control,” Tshidiso Ndou – communications manager at TTM simply put it in answering to the question of possibly winning promotion through the play-offs.
