A return to top-flight football could be on the cards for Tsepo Masilela after 15 months after his exit from Kaizer Chiefs.
Masilela has been without a club since he parted ways with Chiefs at the end of the 2017/18 season, with the Soweto giants confirming at the time that the veteran defender’s contract had not been renewed.
News reaching the Siya crew is that the left-back has surfaced at AmaZulu as he looks to revive his career and to help the team in their attempt to move away from relegation zone.
It was recently reported by the Siya crew that AmaZulu coach Jozef Vukusic has also been looking at reinforcing the left side of the team’s defence, after the club recently welcomed another former Chiefs player and centre-back Mario Booysen in their training.
“Tsepo Masilela – the former Chiefs defender – is at AmaZulu. He is at the club for training with the team for now,” confirmed the source.
As confirmed, AmaZulu have been drawn to play against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Last 16 of the Telkom Knockout in what will be expected to be an entertaining match on their return from the FIFA international break.
