Masilela’s Amakhosi Talks To Start Next Year
Kaizer Chiefs are expected to open up talks with Tsepo Masilela early in 2018 as a decision is made regarding whether he will remain with the club or not.
Masilela will see his contract at Chiefs expire at the end of the current season, and as of yet, there have been no discussions regarding a new deal.
The 32-year-old defender is currently on the mend as he looks to get back from an injury that has kept him out since early in the season, but he is now on the verge of getting himself back to fitness.
The Siya crew spoke to Mike Makaab in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, and when asked about Masilela’s situation he explained that talks would be getting underway in a couple of months.
He wouldn’t go into detail, but did say, “We’re probably going to meet in early January.”
With Philani Zulu impressing as a left wingback in Steve Komphela’s new formation, Masilela isn’t guaranteed a spot even when he does get fit again, and other clubs could look to use that as a way of trying to tempt him away on a pre-contract in January.
