The Siya crew has been informed that DStv Premiership side TS Galaxy has parted ways with two players.
It is understood that the Rockets no longer have Gerald Modisane and Sefako Matlala on their books ahead of the 2021/22 PSL season. The 28-year-old Modisane made 17 appearances for the club during the 2020/21 season.
Information received by the Siya crew reveals that the player’s contract came to an end and he has since left the club. The defender joined Galaxy from Chippa United in September 2020.
Matlala, meanwhile, made nine appearances for the club last season. The last match the winger played for the club was in early April, in a 2-1 defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic.
Other players who are no longer with Galaxy are Myer Bevan, Mbulelo Wambi, Xolani Mahola, Bevan Fransman, Felix Badenhorst and Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who announced his retirement from the game recently.
Galaxy coach Owen da Gama joined the club during the season, finding a squad that had been built for previous coach Dan Malesela. He looks set to start building his own squad as Galaxy look to improve on last season’s ninth place finish.
