Transfer Update: PSL Clubs Monitoring Outgoing Chiefs Defender

By Soccer Laduma - Jul 14, 2017 04:05 PM

A number of PSL clubs are believed to monitoring the situation of a Kaizer Chiefs defender currently facing the exit door at the club.

Chiefs confirmed earlier in June that the club has come to an agreement with Siyanda Xulu amongst other players, on terminating his contract.

However, the Siya crew subsequently revealed that while the 25-year-old and his representative have met with Amakhosi about termination talks, the two parties are yet to come to a mutual decision.

Indications are that Chiefs will have to pay a huge settlement fee to release Xulu, as the player still has three more years left to run on his contract with the Soweto giants

While Xulu’s release is yet to be finalised by the club, Soccer Laduma has been informed that a numbers of PSL clubs are all believed to be monitoring the player’s situation with a keen eye.

Xulu made just one Absa Premiership appearance during the 2016/17 campaign, falling far down the pecking order under Head Coach Steve Komphela.

Now, should Xulu eventually become a free agent, it remains to be seen where he will land up, however indications are that in order to play regular football elswhere, the 25-year-old will have to take a pay-cut.

I don't understand our(chiefs) policy of releasing players before we get replacements ,for example if you have plans to release a holding middle fielder you must first sign a player who can play in that position and release the player ,we made a mistake by releasing yeye and we did not sign a replacement.ManU got Lukaku first and release Rooney take note.
