Transfer Update: Bidvest Wits To Release Defender?
Bidvest Wits are currently in discussions about the immediate future of one of their defenders as they look to make the necessary changes to their squad in the upcoming January transfer window.
Slavko Damjanovic joined up with the Students during the July/August transfer window period this year, where he went on to make just six appearances so far for the Clever Boys.
Damjanovic has been completely left out of the squad in Wits’ past four Absa Premiership fixtures and indications are that Buhle Mkhwanazi’s return to Head Coach Gavin Hunt’s squad could make it hard for the Montenegrin to salvage any game-time going forward.
The Siya crew has been informed by sources in the know that the 2017 Telkom Knockout champions are considering releasing the centre back from his contract with Wits, with indications that the 25-year-old might not be in their plans going forward.
Wits currently have centre backs, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Mkhwanazi and Bongani Khumalo, on their books for the 2017/18, with Damjanovic’s immediate future now hanging in the air.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Wits will look to release the player in the upcoming January transfer window or if a transfer to another club in the Premier Soccer League is on the books for the defender.
