One of Ajax Cape Town’s midfielders appears to be no longer on the books of the club, with the Urban Warriors set to make an official announcement about his departure.
Toriq Losper, who came through the Ajax Youth development structures, is set to officially part ways with the Ikamva-based club.
According to sources in the know, Ajax have opted against exercising the added option on his contract, alerting the player that he won’t be needing to report to pre-season training.
Sources have added that Losper is the noticeable absentee from Head Coach Muhsin Ertugral’s set-up in pre-season training, with indications that he is no longer on the books of the Mother City-based club.
Ajax recently, officially, parted ways with Travis Graham, another product of their academy, paying tribute to his contribution to the Cape Town side and it remains to be seen whether they will be doing the same for Losper in the coming days.
The Urban Warriors still may have a shot at top flight football next season, after Advocate William Mokhari’s award was set aside, which means that Ajax have returned to 15th place on the Absa Premiership league standings.
it was also confirmed that the relegation/promotion play-offs results are null and void, which could see Black Leopards appealing this ruling.
The Premier Soccer League is expected to respond to Judge Fischer’s ruling, however, the matter has been referred back to FIFA.
