Following his premature exit from Mamelodi Sundowns, Tokelo Rantie has been spotted at one of the Absa Premiership clubs as he looks to return to professional football.
Having joined Sundowns in September last year, after spending months without a club since leaving Cape Town City in December 2018, Rantie’s stay in Chloorkop was short-lived as he was released after only three months.
The Brazilians confirmed in January that the 29-year-old forward’s contract was terminated, with the club having initially confirmed that the whereabouts of the former Orlando Pirates and Bournemouth FC player were unknown to them in the weeks prior to his exit.
News reaching the Siya crew is that Rantie has surfaced at Bloemfontein Celtic, where he is appearing to be on course to sign a contract, having started training with the club in Mangaung, according to sources.
“Tokelo Rantie is at Bloemfontein Celtic. He was introduced to the players by the team’s coach Lehlohonolo Seema, before he started training with the club. It looks likes he’s going to be signed,” said the source.
Meanwhile, Siwelele prepare for a home game against Baroka, which will be at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday.
