According to reports coming out of the Netherlands, Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem and La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna are both vying for the signature of Bafana Bafana international, Thulani Serero.
The 27-year-old will see his stay with Ajax Amsterdam come to an end on June 30, when his contract expires, with indications that the player is keen on continuing his footballing career abroad.
The midfielder fell out of favour with the Dutch giants this season, which subsequently saw Serero turn out for the young Ajax's reserve side in order to keep fit.
As reported on Soccer Laduma in the past, the likes of English Championship team, Reading FC have shown interest in the player in the past, but due to the difficulty of obtaining a UK passport, the club pulled out of their interest.
Now, Serero is set to leave Ajax on a free at the end of his contract on June 30 and according to reports in the Netherlands, Dutch side Vitesse and La Liga outfit, Coruna, have shown interest in luring the player to their camp. Indications are that the two sides will be battling it out for his signature when he becomes a free agent on July 01.
But the Arnhem have formidable competition from Deportivo La Coruna, which has already conducted an initial interview with the former Ajax player.
"The South African came last season no longer in the plans of Ajax, loved his workout at Ajax and played a few times along with the team of Marcel Keizer and John Heitinga. Although Deportivo can provide a much higher salary than Vitesse, the Arnhem are not lost in advance. Serero feels at home in the Netherlands and said to choose feeling," Telegraaf revealed on their official website (translated into English).
