Trouble Brewing At Baroka

There Seems To Be Some Trouble Brewing At Baroka FC

By Soccer Laduma - Jul 12, 2017 01:24 PM
There could be trouble brewing at Baroka FC, with a divided camp forming at the club over the role of a key member of staff.

According to Siya sources, there are disgruntled figures in both the technical team and playing staff regarding the influence of team manager, Lawrence Okwara, who is reportedly heavily involved with who is signed and played by the club.

Baroka narrowly avoided relegation last year as the managed to stay in the Absa Premiership via the promotional play-offs, and while they’re looking to avoid a similar scenario in 2017/18, their internal problems appear to be persisting.

The Siya crew have been informed that several members of staff, both on and off the field, are growing increasingly disillusioned at the club, with some even considering trying to leave because of the issues there.

A source said, “There is a feeling that the club has lost good players and coaches because of the influence of the wrong people, and it’s disappointing for many people there.”

Baroka are looking to make a number of signings before the transfer window closes so that they can try and avoid a relegation scrap in the new campaign.

@molelem Wasn't it Kgoloko who promoted the team to PSl? If he could promote the team to Psl what made him a bad coach suddenly?

@slivo ledimo Even Sandawana had its problematic team manager aka Kenneth Makhanya in complicit with Trott Moloto since its disgruntled fans raised their displeasure with excessive interference by the former n threatened to take law unto their own hands stability reigned/returned as that interference has been identified n redressed

This sickness of interference by team managers seems very prevalent amongst Psl teams Floyd Mbhele n Screamer Tshabalala sprung into my mind when that contentious issue of interference by Managers was raised.Baroka fc must rid itself of this endemic as soon as possible.OPfc nearly got relegated because of this

The team is selling good players. There are no good players in that team. It's bunch of frustrated fools.

Ohlaba eyakhe akaphikiswa, Baroka is family business like Kaizer Chiefs, Thobejane once said he can never be fired, but they can only change him to another position within the team. NFD is calling them come May 2018

If this is true then Chiefs has serious issues, why not buy the player outright if they are so sure he is their man? Gordinho was one of the best players at Chiefs last season and they let go of a Centre back in Xulu, they want to let go of another Centre back in Gordinho? This is crazy... Soon this Mighty Giants of SA football will have their Status up for Sale, I think those guys who wants to revive Moroka Swallows must consider buying this Team from Kaizer, the man is now old and seems to be loosing his vision... This Team is now ran like Free State Stars. Ag maan Chiefs ea bora!
