While several players in the league will see their respective deals expire at the end of the season, there are some top players who have options in place.
Big name players such as George Maluleka and Hlompho Kekana will all see their contracts expire at the end of the season and while there has been talk of extensions at Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns - respectively - they are yet to put pen to paper.
There are a number of top players that will also see their contracts expire at the end of the campaign, though their contracts include options to extend beyond the 2019/20 season. The Siya crew looks at five of these top players.
Thabang Monare and Cole Alexander – the duo at Bidvest Wits will see their deals come to an end on June 30 this year, however, Wits have an added one-year option set in place on both of their deals.
Lucky Mohomi – Mohomi will also see his contract come to an end at the end of the season, however, the Brazilians have an added one-year option set in place.
Jeremy Brockie – Brockie is on loan at Maritzburg until the end of the season and according to the information made available to the Siya crew, the striker’s contract with Sundowns run until the end of the season, although, the club has added options set in place to extend.
Musa Nyatama – the midfielder who was recently released from Orlando Pirates, quickly joined up with Highlands Park until the end of the season. However, the Lions of the North confirmed that they have a long-term option set in place.
