Chiefs, Pirates And Sundowns Keep An Eye On Winger
The Premier Soccer League's Big Three Are Keeping A Close Eye On Lebohang Maboe
The big three in the Premier Soccer League are believed to all be keeping a close eye on a star from Maritzburg United.
As previously reported by the crew, Kaizer Chiefs were monitoring Lebohang Maboe from the Team of Choice, with a view to potentially approach the club for the player’s services.
However, it has since been revealed to the Siya crew that Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are also keeping a close eye on the left winger’s situation at the KwaZulu-Natal-based club.
Maboe currently has one more year left on his contract with Maritzburg, however, according to sources, the club has another one-year option on his deal.
With all the changes expected to be made by Chiefs in the coming months, indications are that the club will look to recruit new and young signings for the 2018/19 season.
Sundowns, on the other hand, are spoilt for choice in their left-wing area, with the likes of Themba Zwane, Aubrey Ngoma and George Lebese all able to play in that position, although, the Brazilians could be eyeing Maboe as a player for the future.
Pirates also have the likes of Amigo Memela, Thabo Qalinge and Thembinkosi Lorch able to play in the left-wing position and with their change of formations in different games, the technical team seem to have enough cover in the attacking department.
On the other hand, Maritzburg, who are having their best season in the history of the club, may not be eager to let one of their star players go to their rivals after proving that they are capable of challenging amongst the best for the Absa Premiership title.
Although, as seen with the Evans Rusike transfer to SuperSport United, should the right offer come in for Maboe, it remains to be seen if the Team of Choice will let the player go.
