The future of Al Ahly striker, Amr Gamal who is in the final months of his loan stint with Bidvest Wits, is still currently up in the air, with a decision set to be made in the coming hours about whether or not the player will be making the move away from The Students.
Gamal has been left out of the squad during Wits’ previous two Absa Premiership encounters, with indications that he has fallen out of favour at the club.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Gamal was absent from training earlier this week, with rumours flooding in about his potential exit.
It was subsequently revealed that both Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United were showing interest in player’s services. Although, Matsatsantsa have since completed the signing of Maritzburg United striker, Evans Rusike, which could mean that the Tshwane giants may have pulled out of the race for Gamal.
However, SuperSport could still be assessing the possibility of bringing the player to the club, as a lot can happen in the final few hours before the transfer window closes shut at midnight.
Other Siya sources have revealed that Pirates are also in talks about potentially adding the player to their books, as they look to continue strengthening their attacking department.
As things stand, interested clubs will need to agree on terms with both Wits and the Egyptian’s parent-club, Al Ahly, before a move/deal for Gamal can materialise.
However, should neither of these moves happen for the player in the coming hours, the Siya crew was informed by two reliable sources that Gamal could remain with Wits for the rest of his loan stint, which comes to an end on June 30 this year, with sources adding that the player will be fully committed to trying to return to favour with Head Coach Gavin Hunt.
