Teko Modise, a household name in Mzansi’s football fraternity, will be signing a new deal within the week.
According to Siya sources, the former Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City star has made a decision regarding his immediate future, after opting to calling it a day on his professional football career at the end of the 2018/19 season.
The 36-year-old confirmed his retirement from the game last month, putting an end to an illustrious career. Following the announcement about his official retirement, Cape Town City chairman, John Comitis, confirmed hat Modise would be remaining with the club, although his new official role was yet to be confirmed.
Siya sources have now indicated that The General, as Modise is affectionately known in the fraternity, is set to sign a deal with a title sponsor that is associated with the PSL. Based on the new deal, he is expected to remain involved in the football fraternity, however off the field.
An official announcement regarding the new deal is expected to be made within the week, with sources indicating that the announcement could be made as early as Wednesday.
