Former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United defender,Tefu Mashamaite, has surfaced at another Absa Premiership club as he looks to revive his career in the new season.
Having finished last season playing in the lower division for Baberwa FC in the ABC Motsepe League, Mashamaite is looking to revive his career in Mzansi’s topflight in the new season.
After spending some time training with Black Leopards last week, it seems that the centre-back won’t be signed by the Limpopo outfit.
News reaching the Siya crew is that the 34-year-old has surfaced at Chippa United for training with the team under coach Clinton Larsen.
It was recently reported by the Siya crew that the Chilli Boys have had their sights on Bloemfontein Celtic’s Wandisile Letlabika, among some of the club's targets, as Larsen is keen on making defensive reinforcements to his squad.
Furthermore, with Gladwin Shitolo’s move back to Chippa from Orlando Pirates uncertain, as the player is seemingly reluctant to make the switch to Port Elizabeth, the Chilli Boys will want to add to their defence with experienced players in preparation of the new season.
The Siya crew first reported on Chippa’s interest in Mashamaite in December, before the player was signed by Baberwa in January.
In other news, Thapelo Tlabakwe who was signed by Chippa last year from Jomo Cosmos, has surfaced at Baroka FC for training under the team’s coach Wedson Nyirenda.
