Taariq Fielies, whose been one of the most influential players at Cape Town City since joining the club back in 2017, is understood to be keen on a move away from the Citizens, preferably to either Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs.
Fielies was previously on the radar of the big three in 2019, with Siya sources indicating at the time that Sundowns and the Bucs were looking to approach City for his services.
However, the club’s chairman, John Comitis revealed in response that he would not be interested as the player is destined for a move to the Middle East.

“I heard nothing and I am not interested. Taariq Fielies is destined for a Middle East deal,” he told the Siya crew at the time.
However, according to the latest news reaching the Siya crew, the Citizens would now be open to a transfer elsewhere domestically, this if the right offer is tabled.
“Look, he (Taariq Fielies) turned 28 on the weekend. And at his age, he wants to take on a new challenge. There was interest from the big teams Gauteng in the past. Let’s see what happens after this season,” a source explained in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma.
