It will come as a surprise to many in the football fraternity, but coach Brandon Truter is facing the axe at Swallows!
The Siya crew understands that the Dube Birds will hold crunch talks with ‘Brakkies’ in the coming days to discuss his future at the club with management apparently contemplating asking him to vacate his position.

Approached for comment on the latest developments, Swallows chairman David Mogashoa insisted suggestions that Truter was on the ropes were “only rumours”.
The Dube Birds have enjoyed a fairytale return to the topflight and Truter was awarded with the Coach of the Month accolade for December and January, a recognition for his efforts given the side were joint log leaders with Mamelodi Sundowns at the time.
They have dropped off the pace a little bit since, with no wins in eight DStv Premiership games following Truter’s award earlier this year.
It is believed that is that part of the reasons why management is concerned, though Swallows are still in a good position to secure a finish in the Top eight.
The Dube Birds are is sixth place on the table – four points adrift Golden Arrows in second, with a game in hand. Log leaders Downs have opened up a nine point gap and they have also played one game less than Swallows.
Truter’s agent said the slump did not warrant the coach being sacked.
“That would be a shock if the coach is fired. Which team gets promoted to the topflight and in their first season they are comfortably in the Top 8? Look at a coach like Steve Barker, who has had mixed results at Stellenbosch, a newly promoted team over the last two seasons, and he is still in the job,” said Basia Michaels of QT Sports.
“Steve Komphela also reached the semifinals of a cup and finished outside the Top eight at Arrows, but did not get fired. There are more examples. Ernst Middendorp lost to a lower division team in Nedbank Cup final and also didn’t get Top eight. He kept his job and Kaizer Chiefs improved the next season. If Swallows fired coach Brandon, it really would come as a surprise to us and I am sure a lot of people as well. But we would have to accept it and move on.”
