A decision has been made by Swallows on Ghanaian striker Daniel Gozar as the team is finalising preparations for the new season.
Gozar has just finished his first season with Swallows, having joined the club in September from second tier outfit Free State Stars.
While he scored 11 goals in his last season in the GladAfrica Championship for Ea Lla Koto, Gozar struggled in front of goals in his first season in the topflight, although he has been commended for his high work-rate in Brandon Truter’s team towards the end of the season.
The 27-year-old netted just one goal – a penalty against Black Leopards in April as Swallows collected all three points in that 1-0 victory at the Dobsonville Stadium.
Having signed the player on a one-year deal plus a two-year option, the club has now taken the option to extend the deal by two more years, as confirmed by reliable sources close to the club.
“Swallows have exercised the option on Daniel Gozar’s contract to extend the deal by two more years,” confirmed the source.
