Swallows FC have completed yet another signing, the Siya crew can confirm.
After impressing on a week-long assessment including a sizzling display in a friendly match, former SA youth international Tyroane Sandows has put pen to paper with the Birds.
According to Siya sources, the deal was concluded last week, with Sandows joining as a free agent. The team is expected to make an announcement during the course of the week.
Sandows becomes Swallows’ latest signing after the cub announced the capture of former Ajax Cape Town midfielder Bantu Mzwakali.
The former Gremio and Figueirense star will be hoping to set the local scene alight with the Birds, following a short stint with Maritzburg United, who he joined after parting ways with Brazilian Serie B outfit Ponto Preta late in 2020.
The Joburg-born star can play both as a winger and a number 10, and will undoubtedly give Swallows vast attacking options, with the likes of Ruzaigh Gamildien and Kgaogelo Sekgota linked with an exit from coach Brandon Truter’s side.
Sandows, who spent 11 years in Brazil has represented South Africa at under-20 and under-23 level, made a name for himself after scoring a hat-trick against Zambia at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations back in 2015.
