The Siya crew has it on good authority that Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs are understood to be finalizing the latest deal between the two clubs.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi and the Birds were in advanced talks over attacking midfielder George Matlou and it is now believed that a deal has been agreed to in principle.
Matlou has been the subject of interest from both Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, however, indications are that it is the side from Naturena have made huge strides in their pursuit of the player.
Word reaching the Siya crew is that Chiefs and Matlou would now have to discuss the player’s personal terms as a move for the 23-year-old edges closer.
Matlou played his part in helping Swallows retain their topflight status, featuring in three of the four relegation/promotion play-off games for coach Dylan Kerr’s side.
He had also made 24 appearances in all competitions in the regular season.
The former Bidvest Wits midfielder looks set to follow his former teammate Ruzaigh Gamildien out of the Birds’ nest with the veteran striker having penned a deal with Royal AM.
