SSU Move Unlikely For Ex-England Boss
Sven-Göran Eriksson Was Linked With The SuperSport United Job
Former England head coach, Sven-Göran Eriksson, was one of the names being linked with a move to SuperSport United, although the switch seems unlikely.
Matsatsantsa have been on the lookout for a new man at the helm ever since Eric Tinkler’s resignation earlier in the year, and on Monday they returned for pre-season as they began their preparations for the new campaign.
Interim coach, Kaitano Tembo, took the lead at Megawatt Park yesterday as things got back underway for the club, and it has been suggested that management is not averse to letting the Zimbabwean have the reigns for the time being.
As reported in the most recent issue of Soccer Laduma, Eriksson’s name was one that was mentioned with regards to the position as Tinkler’s successor, however, Siya sources have explained that – for whatever reason – it is unlikely that that move will materialise.
SuperSport have signed James Keene, Luke Fleurs and Washington Arubi so far this window, and aren’t expected to be too busy between now and the end of the August.
