The Siya crew has been informed that Matsatsantsa’s Thato Mokeke is set for a move to a new club for the beginning of the 2018/19 season.
As confirmed to the Siya crew by a source close to the Matsatsantsa camp, the club has not yet exercised their option on the player’s contract, which is set to expire at the end of June.
“Thato Mokeke’s contract is ending at the end of next month (June). The club had until today (May 31) to take up their option on his contract, but that hasn’t happened as yet. As things stand, the player will be leaving the club. It makes sense that he leaves because he has not been playing. He will be on the move,” said the source.
Having spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Cape Town City, Mokeke returned to SuperSport last year for the 2017/18 season.
However, the left-back struggled for game-time at SuperSport, as he made only one league start for the Tshwane outfit all season.

Having come through the junior ranks at SuperSport, Mokeke made his professional debut with Ajax Cape Town, where he was one of the key players for the team before he was signed back by Matsatsantsa in January 2014.
