Orlando Pirates are planning for the future and while they are assessing their options behind the scenes, indications are that they will have to wait for one of their targets.
Siya sources have informed the Siya crew that Bucs have reignited their interest in SuperSport United’s Thabo Mnyamane, however, it is believed that the 25-year-old striker is part of SuperSport’s plans and the club has no interest in seeing him leave.
It was revealed in this week’s edition, issue 1083, that the Soweto giants have reignited their interest in the pacey forward. Mnyamane has been linked to Bucs since his playing days at the University of Pretoria, however, while the Soweto giants are keen, he is under contract.
“Pirates have been interested in Thabo Mnyamane for some time. The boy has been the club’s target for a long time. They would be keen to land him, should he be available for a move. But there is no chance of a move at the moment, as the boy is still contracted to SuperSport and is in their plans,” a source revealed in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma.
SuperSport extended Mnyamane’s contract last year, which will see him at the club until the end of the 2021/22 season. This means that Pirates will have to buy the striker out of his contract, should they pursue with their interest, and if SuperSport are open on entertaining offers.
