SuperSport United have agreed to sign a new striker, who has signed a contract with the club, although they won’t be getting him just yet…
Iqraam Rayners has scored 35 goals over the past two-and-a-half seasons at Stellenbosch FC, including four in his debut Absa Premiership season so far, and his form has seen him attract the attention of top-flight mainstays, Matsatsantsa
It has been confirmed that, while the 24-year-old attacker has now penned a four-year deal with SuperSport, Stellies are unwilling to let him leave at this point in time, and would rather see him leave for free at the end of the campaign rather than lose him for a fee this month before the transfer window closes.
SuperSport’s CEO, Stan Matthews, confirmed the news to the Siya crew, saying, “Yes, Iqraam Rayners has signed for us for next season on a precontract, however Stellenbosch want him for the rest of 2019/20 so he’ll only come and join us in July.”
Rayners has been a key performer for the Western Cape-based outfit this season so far, and will be eager to add to his tally for the campaign as he looks to play his role in keeping the club before making the move to Tshwane later this year.
