SuperSport United look set to appoint Dutchman, Nico Labohm, as the club’s new Technical Director as they aim to improve matters from a development side in Tshwane.
Matsatsantsa have a proud history of developing some of South Africa’s most successful players, and not many eras were more successful than when Labohm – who will be embarking on his second stint with SuperSport – was there during the early 2000s.
According to Siya sources, the Labohm has been singled out as the man who SuperSport see as the perfect candidate for the TD role, especially given the fact that he is no stranger to Mzansi or Africa, and has previous experience working in the Premier Soccer League.
The Dutch mentor is set to come on board at some point this month as he looks to get back into the swing of things in South Africa, and there have been indications that he could be involved in their Multichoice Diski Challenge side going forward as the club seeks to return to the glory days in terms of developing the country’s young talent.
Labohm, who was involved in developing the likes of Kamohelo Mokotjo and Kermit Erasmus, has a long history of coaching in the Netherlands with the KNVB and will be looking to bring his expertise to SuperSport as quickly as possible.
