Maritzburg have been adamant that they will not be selling their top scorer in the January transfer window, but with Matsatsantsa struggling for form and still searching for Jeremy Brockie's replacement, it appears that they are looking to test their resolve.
The PSL transfer window will slam shut tomorrow evening at midnight, and the Siya crew have been informed that SuperSport are eager to try and get a deal done before it closes.
It remains to be seen whether Eric Tinkler's side will be able to stump up the money that Maritzburg would need in order to let Rusike leave the club, although they do have some cash to play with, given the hefty transfer fee they received for Brockie earlier in the window.
