PSL Trio Chasing Zimbabwe International
Washington Arubi may not have been able to gain promotion into the Absa Premiership with Stellenbosch FC, however, he might be on his way to the top-flight anyway.
Arubi, who played 23 games for the National First Division outfit this season, is believed to have made it onto the radar of a number of sides as his contract in the Western Cape comes to an end, and it appears the experienced shot-stopper is in demand.
According to Siya sources, SuperSport United, Highlands Park and Bidvest Wits have all shown an interest in landing the 32-year-old as a free transfer, although it is thought that – at present – it is Matsatsantsa leading the race for his signature.
The Zimbabwean does have previous top-flight experience having spent numerous years with University of Pretoria while they were in the top-flight and could be seen as a good addition as all three clubs look to make their mark in 2018/19.
SuperSport’s Reyaad Pieterse has been linked with a move away from the club, while Moeneeb Josephs is likely to leave Wits, and Highlands are on the lookout for any player that could aid them in their quest for survival.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the situation, although it is thought that the goalkeepers’ future could soon be finalised.
