According to reports coming out of Venezuela, Mamelodi Sundowns are set to sign another foreign striker.
Sportsvenezuela.com have reported that Venezuelan striker, Jose Ali Meza, has travelled to South Africa to undergo a medical with the Brazilians.
“The future of Venezuelan striker José Alí Meza could be in an exotic destination. Exactly in South Africa, the country where the Creole travelled to undergo a medical check-up, that of leaving without any problem, would turn him into a new player of the Mamelodi Sundowns of the Premier League of that place, a team where Rafael Dudamel also lived. José Torrealba,” the website stated, as loosely translated from Spanish.
The website added that the player is set to leave his club in Bolivia, Oriente Petrolero after Sundowns tabled an attractive offer to the club.
“It is said that, despite being one of the better strikers, the club let him go because he could not match the economic proposal offered by the Mamelodi (Sundowns).”
“The South African squad would be willing to pay $800 000 for Meza, an amount that would serve Oriente Petrolero as an economic support to find another forward of equal weight to the Venezuelan,” the website added.
