Komphela Being Eyed By Tshwane Giants?

Steve Komphela Has Attracted A Suitor In The Premier Soccer League

By Soccer Laduma - Apr 25, 2018 02:30 PM

Steve Komphela has attracted an interested suitor in the Premier Soccer League.

The 50-year-old head coach stepped down from the helm of Kaizer Chiefs at the weekend, after almost three seasons at the club, unfortunately, unable to clinch any domestic silverware with the team.

However, the crew has been informed that Komphela’s name has been mentioned as a possible candidate to take over the head coach role at SuperSport United.

The Matsatsantsa side is currently fighting for survival at the bottom of the Absa Premiership league standings, where they could find themselves having to go through to the relegation play-offs should they be unable to clinch maximum points in their upcoming encounters.

Eric Tinkler stepped down as coach of the team in March this year, leaving interim head coach, Kaitano Tembu to take charge of the side until the end of the season.

Indications are that management has been in discussions about a new head coach to take over the vacant role and Komphela’s name has been mentioned as one of the options, with the mentor currently a free agent.

It remains to be seen whether SuperSport will approach Komphela in the coming weeks.

Let them have that arrogant fool, we at Chiefs are happy that he is gone. One word of advice for you Devilcowditor, never ever mention that imposter in the same sentence as Chiefs because he is an insult to us and football as a sport

There's no pressure at SSU Steve will succeed there and will start by hammering the same Chiefs that chased him.

Good move from SS atleast they have quality players there he will be spoilt for choice, and I strongly believe that SK is a different coach now prefer when he started at Chiefs,he was forced to learn so much so quick, same thing will happen when Eric partway with Bucs and joined Cape town city and did well there and I strongly believe he will make it

He might just surprise us all and do well at SuperSport. I think Chiefs was just too big for him that is why he played not to loose instead of applying proper football tactics

Steve is good for clubs which used to play a "skop and donner" type of soccer like Maritzburg Utd, Bidvest Wits and Supersport Utd. He will fit in well at SSU.
