Chiefs And Bucs In Billiat Race

Soweto Giants Linked To Sundowns Star

By Soccer Laduma - Dec 06, 2017 02:45 PM

Mamelodi Sundowns’ Khama Billiat is being monitored by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, among other clubs interested in his services.

As reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, the Soweto giants are believed to be leading the race to land Billiat’s signature.

Billiat, who was instrumental for Downs in their 4-0 win over Baroka FC on Tuesday evening, is expected to leave Chloorkop either in January or at the end of the season.

The Zimbabwean will officially be entering into the last six months of his deal with Downs in January.

The player’s contract with Downs will expire in June 2018 and in January, Billiat will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with any other club.

The 27-year-old could leave Downs on a free at the end of this campaign. With the star midfielder being strongly linked with a move away from the Chloorkop-based club and attracting interest from local PSL and overseas clubs, the indication from sources in the know is that Chiefs and Pirates have emerged as strong candidates in pursuing his signature.

The Brazilians have seemingly given up on having Billiat in their team beyond the 2017/18 season. The club’s head coach Pitso Mosimane has stated countless times in the media that Billiat will be leaving the club.

Most recently, Billiat has been linked with Egyptian giants Zamalek and Cape Town City, although it is now believed that Amakhosi and Bucs are also in the race for his services, as reported in edition 1052 of Soccer Laduma.

If hr can get R1m per month elsewhere, I give the boy my blessing to go for it. He deserves such money unfortunately no PSL team can afford these wages.Sundowns only in the PSL can afford half a million at the push

@SL_hated_donkey that was as a result of a third force. The players you are mentioning wanted to leave but they were blocked. In this case its different. These players want to leave and no one is going to block them. They have made up their minds and so is Mngonyama, Ngobeni, Sya Zwane, Castro, Ntethe and Mbhekile. I believe players should be released if they want to leave.Yes only 11 are in the field of play but not to field a player for 5 yrs, keep on the bench and loan out is madness.

@ImHereBecauseOfSundowns i think it is possible given the fact that he is not happy at his club, Chiefs are struggling to get a goal getter, game time at Chiefs and the most IMPORTANT issue; a lucrative salary. Chiefs pays better than Sundowns. He will be in the bracket of Shabba and Khune. That is why Mphahlele left Sundowns and mark my words; Billiat, Zwane and Castro might follow. We shall see. Players prefer a higher salary than an incentive of sharing the winnings. Moreover Chiefs is well organized and supported by high society. That was how they were since they were formed. You check that support base and believe that these players will bring back that scenario.

I doubt if he will come to my beloved OPFC. Zim players love Chiefs and vice versa. :))

Eish our hearts will remain painfully if he choose to go locally. He is currently forcing himself now, you can see his body language. Instead of standing infront of his way, lets release him with our blessings. No one is bigger than the game, we will soldier on in his absence thats what competition is made of. Pitso must call Mahashe from Arrows that boy can do wonders on the left attacking midfield. Good luck Khama
