Amakhosi Youngsters Sent Away
A group of Kaizer Chiefs’ upcoming players seem to have been dealt a blow in terms of breaking into the first team, with four of them being sent back to the reserves.
Word reaching the Siya crew is that players such as Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Given Thibedi, Yusuf Bunting and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo have been told that they will no longer be training with the senior team, and have been sent back to the reserves.
While the quartet has been playing for the club’s Multichoice Diski Challenge side, they had been training with the first team and Ntiya-Ntiya even managed to make his senior debut last season.
Thibedi and Bunting recently played their role in helping the club lift the Maize Cup in the pre-season, and it will have come as a blow to all of them that they will not be learning from Giovanni Solinas this season.
It remains to be seen whether the youngsters will get the chance to earn back their spot in the first team going forward, although for now, they will just be with the reserves as the new Absa Premiership season gets underway.
